The Orange Class has been interested in the alphabet and learning to spell their name. So, since this class loves to paint and glitter, why not add letters to the mix. We wanted to make an alphabet mural using white paper, glitter, glue, crayons, paint dotters and cut out letters of the alphabet. This was a two-day project, the first day the children got to paint the backdrop of the mural with the coloring options we put out. Some friends liked to mix paint with the glitter, which was the class’s favorite thing to do. The Next day we worked on the mural we had cut outs of the alphabet in all the colors spread out all over the mural with paint brushed and cups filled with glue. Of course, it not every day we get to use glue with paint brushes, which is what got the children to in cage. We noticed some children would brush glue on the white paper and then tap the letters in, while others would carefully add glue to the letter and then paste in on the mural. The children thought our mural was not quite ready; it was missing more glitter! They added glitter to what was left of the glue, and we sparkled on.
